The moment Julie met the DCP staff and students she knew this was a special place. From the excitement of guiding families through their child's first educational experience to seeing the tremendous growth as the children move through each class level, Julie knew she wanted to be a part of the community this school created.
Professional Experience Julie's degree is from Miami University. She holds a lifetime teaching license in Texas and a professional teaching license in Ohio. She taught middle school in Dallas, Texas and she taught first grade and pre-kindergarten at the Village Academy in Powell. She has been a Preschool Director since 1999.
Danielle was born at Hill Air Force Base in Utah but she generally says that she is from Piqua, Ohio. She moved to Columbus after earning her degree from Wright State University in Middle Childhood Education.
Danielle is married and has two children; both of whom attended DCP. Prior to being named Assistant Director in 2015, she was Board President while her children were students and taught in the 2's class from 2012- 2015.
Danielle knew DCP was an extra special preschool from the moment she walked through the front doors. She calls DCP a family and is thankful that she gets to share her days in the company of happy children.
Becki was born in Newport Beach, California. She attended boarding school in Greenfield, MA and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in Elementary Education. She and her husband, Ryan, are parents to two children, Abigail and Walker, and one four-legged child, a yellow lab named Cooper. Becki has been an integral part of DCP since 2012. Witnessing the excitement of "light bulb moments" on the faces of preschool children is what brings her back year after year. She enjoys reading, going on walks with her dog and husband, and traveling with her family.
Chris was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She attended high school in Columbus and went to The Ohio State University. She has two children. Her daughter is a Nurse Practitioner and works for Ohio State while also overseeing Peace for Paws, an animal rescue. Her son is a Lieutenant with Concord Fire Department. Chris has two grandchildren, Braxton and Brayden. She spends a lot of time going to their sporting events! Chris was hired at DCP in 1987 when the school was renting the building across the street! Working with young children and seeing the changes as they grow and learn is what Chris finds most rewarding. She feels fortunate that she has been able to do what she loves with such special people over the years. Chris loves Ohio State football and never misses a game! She also likes to garden and looks forward to spring when she can dig in the dirt!
Ms. Elizabeth grew up in Hilliard, Ohio. She graduated with her Early Education degree in 2020 from Ohio University. She is getting married to her fiance, Thomas, next year and she recently got a dachshund puppy named Winston! She has spent the last 10 years working with families through various forms of childcare. This will be her second year at DCP. One of her favorite things about the job is how often the students teach her new things! Her main focus when working with kids is making sure each child is given the opportunity to be themselves, and learn in a fun way. She's looking forward to many more years with the DCp family!
Originally from Pennsylvania, Jenelle moved to Dublin and attended Dublin Coffman High School. She then went on to Ohio University (Go Bobcats) earning a BS in Community Health. Janelle is a former parent-turned teacher at DCP. As a parent, she served as the Treasurer of the Executive Committee for three years. She accepted a long-term substitute position during the second half of the 2021-2022 school year and was hired on in 2022. Janelle lives in Dublin with her husband Patrick and their two children, Austin and Lila, who are DCP alums! Jenelle serves on the Thomas Elementary PTO Executive Board at her children's school and loves to read, go for walks, and to be outside. She and her family like watching Cleveland baseball and OSU football together.
Currently in her 11th year of teaching at DCP, Julie brings a background in Recreation Education. She is also working towards her ECD certification at Columbus State. She and her husband, Mike, have lived in Dublin for 17 years. They have two talented and incredibly busy children, Kelsey and Ross. Kelsey attends Dublin Scioto High School where she plays two varsity sports and is an Honor Student. Ross is at Davis Middle School where he participates in band and orchestra. He is also on the Honor Roll. According to Julie, the best part about working at DCP is watching the children grow as they learn through play-based curriculum. It doesn't hurt that the staff is like family too!
Katie grew up in Dublin, just up the street from DCP. She went to Bishop Watterson High School, then onto Miami University. Katie graduated with a double major in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. After working for Aldi Inc., she was blessed to be able to stay home with her four children: Alexis, Zack, Lizzy, and Jordyn. All four of her kids went to DCP for preschool. Katie is a huge soccer nut! She was the President and founder of a local soccer club, Northwest FC. There, she has been coaching kids (including her own) for the last 15+ years. Katie subbed at DCP for a couple of years, before becoming a part of the DCP staff in 2018.
Kirstin grew up in Dayton, Ohio where she lived for 28 years until marriage brought her to Dublin. She and her husband have two daughters, Lillian and Eloise, along with a family dog, Dawson. Kirstin attended Vincennes University in Indiana. Upon graduation, she worked for the University of Dayton in the Alumni Relations Department as a program manager. When her daughters were enrolled at DCP, she was on the board and began subbing in the classrooms when needed. She also taught summer camps. In 2016, Kirstin was hired on full time in the Pre-K classroom. She feels blessed to work with children every day and hopes to make a positive impact in her students' lives.
Originally from Delaware, Ohio, Megen attended The Ohio State University, earning a BA in English with a Minor in Education. Megen is a former parent-turned-teacher at DCP. As a parent, she served Secretary of the Executive Board Committee. As a teacher, she serves as Teacher Liaison. She began subbing at DCP in 2016 and was hired on in 2017. She lives in Dublin with her husband, Matt, and two children, Zoe and Hagen (both DCP alums!) When they aren't busy with soccer and swim, they love attending Ohio State football games.
Meghan was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from the Wellington School in Upper Arlington before she went on to study child and family studies at Ohio University. This is her second year teaching at DCP, but for the past five years has been doing pick ups and drop offs for a DCP family. Being able to witness and assist children in their educational and personal growth is what has fueled her ten years of work in childcare. She is so excited to be part of the DCP family!
Meredith was born and raised in Upper Arlington, Ohio - in the same house her mother grew up in. Her mother's family is Italian and they have been to Italy several times together to visit relatives and see where her grandfather grew up. His family first spread their roots in Columbus in the 1930's, by opening Paoletti's, an Italian restaurant in downtown Columbus. She grew up with a love of food and cooking - still one of her favorite hobbies to this day! She joined DCP in 2014 as a part-time teacher. Her mother was an educator and she has always wanted to be a teacher. In 2016, she received her CDA and is continuing her education in Early Childhood Development. She loves DCP and feels very lucky to work with amazing people and children everyday. She is married to Ben, aka Mr. Ben, aka every DCP kids' favorite substitute teacher.
Originally from Richwood, Ohio, Stacie moved to Dublin 24 years ago. She graduated from Bluffton University with a BA in Marketing. She worked at the Limited Express home office and as a Business Sales Recruiter for National Register until she decided to stay home and raise her children. She and her husband have two boys. They spend most of their family time camping, boating, hiking, biking, and watching their boys play hockey. Stacie began subbing for DCP and teaching summer sessions in 2012. Stacie feels blessed to have the opportunity to work at DCP.
Sue began teaching at DCP in 2011 and enjoys it more and more each year! She is originally from New Jersey, but came to Ohio many years ago by way of Boston, Pittsburgh, and Youngstown. She has a BA from Boston University and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She has worked as a therapist for children and their families at Children Hospital Guidance Center. Sue left work to be home with her children and found much joy in volunteering at Dublin Schools during her son and daughter's school years. Her son, Ian, is a UC alum. He works in Sports Photography. He is happily living in Cincinnati with his lovely wife, Dayna, and their puppy, Iggy. Her daughter, Chloe (a DCP alum) is a graduate of American University and currently lives in Charleston, South Carolina. She is a journalist and writes about climate and ecology from the Charleston Post and Courier. Sue loves art museums, photography, dogs, gardening, and especially the ocean. She loves her fellow teachers and the beautiful 3 year-olds she meets every year!
Val is originally from Paulding, Ohio. She has lived in Central Ohio since 2004 when she started college at The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor's of Music Education. She and her husband have a son Atticus who attended DCP. For the last 10 years, she has been working in the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries in their early literacy and after-school programs focusing on working with ESL families in the Dublin community. Her passion for working with children started when she was very young and has only grown as her roles of librarian, mother, and teacher have blended together to be utilized for DCP. She is grateful for this opportunity to work, share, and grow with the students at DCP.
Vasanthi, known to her students and friends as Miss. V, grew up in Dublin, Ohio, and graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Biology. She has 4 wonderful children (all of whom attended DCP), Roshan, Kiran, Chethan, and Anya, and is obsessed with her 10 pound cavapoo Cooper. V has been part of the DCP family for 17 years, first as a parent, then as a sub, and now as a teacher in the 3 year old classrooms. She loves coming to work everyday and feels so grateful to be a part of her students' lives. She enjoys playing tennis, attending her children's many sporting events, and traveling the world with her family.
